Hactar can play both go and capture go. Capture go is easier game for the computer, so Hactar can play it against you without a server.
Hactar plays go using a server, this way Hactar has decent strength also in go (Note: Hactar Lite plays at beginner level.)

In an even game white gets 6.5 extra points to compensate black's right to start the game.
If black player is less skilled than white, a handicap can be used to make the game interesting. Black player may get 2 to 9 handicap stones at the start of the game. In a handicap game white gets 0.5 extra points (komi).
